I stopped the phone and inserted the ID SIM card, which is of a different network than the phone was when I got it from Music Magpie2. I switched ON the phone, and expected to be asked for the 8 digit unfreeze code3.

It recognised that there is a SIM in the phone, but thestatus is emergency calls only, and Network is still showing as EE, Service State as Out Of Service and Mobile Network State as Disconnected4. Tried putting it in and out of airplane mode, restarting etc5 New sim card is compatible with the phone, as the phone is on ID's list of compatible models down to the year and model of the phone.
