  2. Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System

Hi,I have recently upgraded my computer with a new operating system (Windows 7) and a new graphics card, so I thought I might finally be able to run this wonderful sim.I tried to download the software for my Saitek X52 Flight Control System, but was unsuccessful. Going to their website, I could only locate the software for the Saitek X52 PRO (that's the only option available). I downloaded this, and when it asked me to plug in the hardware so that it can begin to configure it, it did not recognise the X52 joystick, and sat there looking stupid. Can anyone either point me in the direction of finding this software, provide a link, or some means to enable me to get this up and running? The joystick itself probably works, but without the software, I could only imagine that the switch and button mapping would not work (and I guess I'll really be needing that). Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie (who only ORDERED the sim todayyet to receive it). Greetings Herr Check6May I heartily concur with and recommend youtake Demon's statement to heart.I use a X-52 Pro combo and had absolute totalgrief mit Saitek's operating software. I can't imaginetheir/Saitek's specific software for your X-52, whateverthe difference with the 52-Pro might be, to cooperate with(permit your ever be capable of checking your 6 in ROF)ROF's operating software.I use Saitek's to set my Throttle module's clock, date, andLED colors on both modules - Period. Get your Saitek driversfrom their site.Use ROF mapper/software for everything else.

I have used Saitek software for over 10 years and I don't have a problem with it. I use it on every flight I make in any Sim I fly. If you would like help or would just like my profile for the X52Pro, PM me and I will e-mail them to you. The in game control setting works great, but it will not let you use mode 2 or 3, limiting how many buttons you can ultimately use. In other sims this can be hugely important. In Rof you should be able to map all buttons on mode one, but I like to be able to switch to mode 2 because I have my buttons set up for rear gunner controls in mode 2, so I merely rotate the mode switch, jump in back and i am ready to go, never touching the keyboard.I also have a separate profile set up for when I fly a bomber, with the bomb sight controls on the Hotas. The biggest plus for me is that I rarely touch the Keyboard once in flight for any sim I am using.

This is a huge immersion plus for me.S!Blade. Chaps,I really appreciate your informative replies. It is unfortunate that I have not been able to locate the software for the X52 (either online or sorting through my mountains of accumulated 'stuff' to find the original CD). I have been successful finding the drivers and software for my rudder pedals (which provides you a feedback curve to test the full range of movement and allows you to set 'deadspots' if desired).

So far, I believe the drivers for the X52 PRO might make my joystick work, but I cannot map any buttons, which as Blademeister explained is VERY useful. The problem is that I cannot check that all my buttons work or the full range of motion of my joystick is available. I will keep looking. In any rate, I might not be all that disadvantaged, as I have a Logitech G19 gaming keyboard, which has three modes with 12 programmable keys in each, and allows me to record 'macros' so that it shouldn't be too bad, butI'll have to take my eyes off the screen and hand off the throttle or joystick to access the keyboard. Well, I'll keep looking, and hope someone here can find their software CD and help me out, or maybe I can locate my CD.I'm glad that the sim allows you to map joystick buttons, hopefully I can work with that to begin.Perhaps I will buy a new joystick (upgrade to Pro maybe) but that seems a bit extreme (I really want this sim to be fully immersive so I am going to extremes anyway).Blademeister, thank you for your kind offer, I will PM you and send you my email address so that you can send me your preferred button mapping assignments. Found your drivers here Sir ' onclick='window.open(this.href);return false;'1. See attached picture(Saitek), click the drop down in the red box first, choose joysticks.2.

See attached picture(Saitek2), click the drop down, x52 is the second from the bottom.3. See attached picture(Seitek3), click the drop down, choose operating system.4. See attached picture(Seitek3, Download both, one is your drivers, the other is profiling software.S!Blade. Blademeister,Thank you VERY much! I (of course) had visited that site many times and made the selection from the LEFT hand box first, which only gave me the choice of X52 Pro. When 'Joysticks' is selected from the right hand box, as you suggested, the X52 does in fact appear, and I was able to install AND test all my functions.I now need to test my TrackIR5 software and make sure that works, then I'll be ready to install my sim when it arrives (tomorrow I'm told).I also dug around in my research and found lots of good stuff to prepare me for my first flights.

Aircraft comparisons and hints on how certain aircraft should attack using their best advantages (boom and zoom or turning fights etc), era-correct maps including aerodrome placements etc.Tomorrow can't arrive quickly enough.Does anyone else have an X52 profile that they wouldn't mind sharing?Thank you again for all your help, it's been invaluable. I work as a supervisor performing Corporate Security for a large chunk of real estate incorporating about 10 boutique shops, 15 restaurants, 7 bars, the headquarters for a major bank (24 floors) and a 5-star hotel (32 floors).

Saitek are a pack of heartless corporate dickholes cobber. They want you to buy their new, over-priced and over complicated piece of crap, not use some old stick and expect service! Who do you think you are anyway?

Such audacity! You're Betraying our glorious capitalist system by not spending every cent you have and continuing to use products long after Saitek's marketing division has decided that you should replace them.

Bloody infidel!Lucky for you I had an X-52 not long ago (Which I thought was a pile of over-prices and over complicated lowest bidder crap by the way) so here's a link to the drivers and SST softwareyou filthy, traitorous, tight-arsed infidel.SST:Driver:SHARE AND ENJOY! JimmyBlonde,Really, don't beat around the bush and tip-toe through everything. Tell me how you really feel.I understand your frustrations. I did find the software fortunately. What we both should be thankful for is that the joystick/throttle combination was well-made, and still able to function perfectly after many years of abuse by ham-fisted wannabe fliers such as myself, and operate way longer than their pitiful technical support.Of course they want us all to buy their new model, despite the fact the old one still works perfectly well. Despite the fact the old one still works perfectly well. After a fashion, although, if I got into a real aircraft and it's controls felt like what you get with an X-52 then I'd be looking for the emergency exit.

Even with FFB switched on it has about as much of an aircrafty 'feel' to it as a spoon standing in cold porridge does. Far too many buttons and the 'MFD' is a complete waste of time.(Insert Thrustmaster plug here, I vastly preferred my old Top Gun Afterburner stick. It was waaaaaay easier to use and you only had to plug the damn thing in for it to work)Nevertheless, I'm glad you found the software and who knows? Maybe this thread will ensure that other visitors from Google can continue to enjoy their evil, glow in the dark X-52's.

Hi,I am trying to program my new Saitek X52 Pro for FSX-Steam. Also, I would like to use the 'profile' setup with the SST programming software. If I program the joystick buttons in FSX settings, all commands work fine. If I try certain key commands in the SST, the will NOT work. For example: BRAKESProgrammed in FSX -Brakes APPLY- = Key 'B' as well as Key '.' And both keystrokes are repeated.- Park Brake SET- = 'CTRL' + 'B' as well as 'CTRL' + '.'

And these keystrokes are not repeated. How can I program these events to a profile with the Saitek SST software? Also does anyone know of a more detailed description/examples of how to use the SST software.
